Obituary of John Joseph Kornutick, Jr.

John Joseph Kornutick, Jr., (Age 66) of Vienna, VA, passed away on Tuesday, 24 December 2013. He is survived by his wife, Alicia, and sister, Marie Kornutick. His Father John Kornutick, Sr and Mother Mary Lucy Kornutick nee Kostrowski proceeded him in death. Mr. Kornutick was born on 2 March 1947 in Jersey City, NJ. He graduated from Dickerson High School. John joined the Marine Corps, six months after graduation, and defended our country in Vietnam for 13 months. After being honorably discharged from the Marines, he moved to Virginia and joined the Washington D.C. Metropolitan Police Department force in November 1968, from which he retired on a disability injury in September 1985. He spent the next few years as a freelance software developer. In the early 1990’s he was drawn back into detective work, and provided background security investigation and senior foreign diplomatic escort service for the U.S. State Department. John was a member in good standing of the American Legion Post 177, Fairfax, VA — Centreville Moose #2168 / #1674 — V F W Post 9274, Falls Church, VA Service/viewing will be held on 28 December 2013, from noon till 4pm, at Advent Funeral & Cremation, 7211 Lee Hwy, Falls Church VA.
