He received the Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award in 1994 and the John Marshall Award in 1987. Throughout his career, Lauri made innumerable contributions to the field of immigration law. He also enjoyed many years of coaching soccer, timing at swim meets and camping and hiking with his sons and their friends. He especially loved the peaceful tranquility of Shenandoah National Park. Of special delight to him was the arrival of his grandchildren.
