Obituary of Joseph Guilietti, Jr.
On Friday, January 12, 2024, Joseph Guilietti, Jr, age 79, went peacefully to be with God after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife, Betty Sue and niece, Karen Guidi, were by his side.
Joe was born on December 29, 1944, in New Haven, CT where he graduated from Notre Dame High School. He went on to get his degree from New Haven College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting Major. After graduating, he joined the Internal Revenue Service as a field agent in the Connecticut office. He subsequently transferred to the National Office in Washington, D.C. where he became a tax law specialist. He retired after 38 years of loyal government service.
While living in the Washington area, he was an active skier, an accomplished tennis player and served as a tennis official for local events. He also enjoyed traveling and visited many countries during this time.
In 1995, Joe married Betty Sue, the love of his life-forever. After retiring, he and his wife moved to Tennessee where they both enjoyed the southern lifestyle. They continued to travel and enjoyed their Rarity Bay and Villages of Farragut homes.
Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Betty Sue, his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Stanley Pawlowski, and two nieces, Kristin and Kelly Pawlowski. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph Guilietti and Olga Diakun Guilietti.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2pm at Annandale United Methodist Church, Annandale, Virginia, followed by burial and reception. To view the livestream, please click here

Joe loved life and people; his warm smile captured the hearts of all he met. A gentle soul and devoted husband, he will be greatly missed.
