I am very saddened by the passing of my sister Elaine. I offer my deeply felt condolences to Mohamed, Mike, and Courtney. Elaine was an extraordinary person. She had so many wonderful qualities--smart, kind, generous, compassionate, caring. For me, she was my cherished big sister. Elaine was always supportive of me. Starting when I was a young child, she would be there to help me figure out the world. She patiently answered my many questions. She encouraged me to be a good student. She nurtured my love of reading. Elaine always gave me thoughtful guidance. I looked up to her with great admiration. We maintained the strong sister connection over the years through visits, phone conversations, and email messages. I am fortunate to have many warm memories of time with Elaine. I will miss her.
