Obituary of Brenda Mae Hamm

Brenda Mae Hamm, 70, died October 2, 2020, with her family by her side in Largo, MD.

She was born June 25th, 1950, in Washington D.C. to Lloyd and Alice Booze. Her father was a Taxi Driver. Her mother was a Teacher's Aid. She grew up in Virginia along with 11 brothers and sisters. 

Prior to retirement, Brenda enjoyed a career as a Contract Specialist for the Department of Employment Services for the District of Columbia. She graduated from Park College and the University of Wisconsin where she obtained her Master's Degree in Social Work and where she met and married Wilfred Hamm. After graduation, they moved to Maryland and raised a family consisting of 2 surviving children Marcus and Malika Hamm.

Her interests included gardening, traveling, and reading. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members.

Mrs. Hamm is survived by her husband Wilfred Hamm, her two children Malika and Marcus Hamm, her grandchildren Caleb Dade and Jordan Tanzilli-Hamm as well as her surviving brothers, Lee, Norman, Lloyd and Thurmond, and sister Michelle.
