Bill and I are so sad over David's passing. He was an important part of our lives most especially during the Covid pandemic. We saw him several times a week as we were a fixture on David's pier on the river. He loved crabs and he generously let us put crab pots out on his dock and we enjoyed crabs at dinner together at least once a week. The chores of maintaining crab pots would have been no fun without David helping out. We had many lovely evening sunsets with drinks on his pier. He was a 7,000 steps a day man, and we were amazed at his physical abilities and always upbeat attitude. David was an impressively intelligent man and so proud of his family, and especially his grandchildren. We shared a love of Virginia Tech football, politics, and the many bald eagles and heron's who graced his property. He joined our small church at Cople Parish and became a valued member.
We will remember David every time we see an eagle soar or a heron land on the shore.
