Dan was a loyal friend for over thirty years. We met at DOJ, stayed close, and he was always a wise and reasonable voice. I will miss him deeply. Join in honoring their life - plant a memorial tree

My first memory of Danny Butler was when we were both about 5 years old and he came strutting into the barber shop where I was getting my head shaved. He was wearing an incredible Lone Ranger outfit complete with powder blue pants and shirt with pearl handled revolvers on both hips, a black mask, and white hat. I sat in awe of this character...and continued to as the years passed...swimming together for years at RCC, Lincoln, Marlins and Guilford...and then the many years since...from his accident right out of college to his competitive swim career to his time at DOJ. I will always remember and stand in awe of Dan's rock solid character and never ending determination. He was a "one of a kind" teammate, friend, and human being. He will be greatly missed....

Dan was an incredibly important member of our parish community, and a good colleague in the youth ministries. I don't know what we'll do without him.
