Obituary of Jean Anders Kriebel

Jean A. Kriebel, 81, a 35 year resident of Vienna, VA, died peacefully on July 17, 2013, while under hospice care at the Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center in Arlington, VA. Jean was born on August 9, 1931 in Lansdale, PA and was the youngest of 8 children of Arthur and Edna Anders. In 1953, she married her high school sweetheart, Wesley Kriebel, and they had a wonderful life together, celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary earlier this year. Together they enjoyed a lifetime of love and commitment while traveling with friends, learning about wine, relaxing in Rehoboth Beach, and being with their children and grandchildren. Before moving to Vienna, Jean lived for many years in State College, PA where she raised her children and worked as a secretary at Penn State University. After moving to Vienna, Jean worked as a legal secretary and office manager. She was a long-time member of the Welcome Club of Northern Virginia where she formed many lasting friendships. Throughout her life she enjoyed gardening, antiquing, golfing, cooking, sewing, and she was an especially avid bridge player. Jean is survived by her husband, Wesley R. Kriebel, of Vienna, VA, her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Terrance Flanagan of Oakton, VA, and her son and daughter-in-law, David and Debra Kriebel, of Millersville, MD, and her sister, Elizabeth Musselman of Souderton, PA She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Katherine and Andrew Kriebel, and Kailey and Bryan Flanagan, and she was especially proud of their accomplishments both in school and as young adults. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 22, 2013, at 11:00am at the Vienna Presbyterian Church, 124 Park Street, Vienna, VA.
