Obituary of Frank Xavier Solomon

Francis (Frank) Xavier Solomon II, born and raised in the Scranton, Pennsylvania area and long time resident of Falls Church, VA, passed away on 22 August, 2013. Surviving him is his beloved wife of 29 years, Millie Solomon, their two sons Francis and Edward, his step children Dane and Aliitasi, and his daughter Kimberly. Frank served as an infantry combat soldier in Vietnam with the 4th Infantry Division. He worked for many years at the Department of Interior in the office of Territorial and International Affairs. After leaving DOI, he was a consultant and an advocate for several South Pacific governments and international investment groups. His passion was coaching and mentoring local baseball players and teams including Falls Church Kiwanis Little League, American Legion Post 225/130, Marshall High School, and others. A memorial service will be held on Monday, 26 August at Advent Funeral Home in Falls Church from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Ann Catholic Church in Arlington on Tuesday, 27 August at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Falls Church Kiwanis Little League or the 17th District American Legion Baseball (1623 Woodmoor Lane McLean, VA 22101-5160 ATTN: FC Post 130.)
