Obituary of Larry C. Williamson

Larry C. Williamson (83) of Vienna, VA died peacefully on April 11, 2014 of complications from Lewy Body Dementia. Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on May 16, 1930, Larry joined the Marines at 17 and fought as a lieutenant in the Korean War. He joined the Foreign Service in 1958 and served for 35 years, in Europe and Africa, including as U.S. Ambassador to Gabon. He is survived by his loving wife Norma, his daughter Kathleen Angiulo, his son Tim Williamson, Norma’s son Thayer Scott and her daughter Audrey Scott, as well as 3 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and a great grandson. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday April 16, 2014 at The Church of the Holy Comforter, 543 Buelah Road, Vienna VA, 22180. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Five Talents (http://www.fivetalents.org/), a micro-finance organization working in emerging nations that is committed, like Larry was, to transforming lives.
