So very sorry to hear this ! Our sympathies to Bert’s family! I was a friend in high school and he always kept me entertained during a most boring English class! Whenever the teacher would say “I am going to how do you say whip it on you tomorrow by giving you a surprise quizM”. He would say loudly, ” Ehhhh! mrs is going to whip it on us! And carry on until we could not help but laugh!” I also remember a convertible he got and brought it by to show me and gave me a ride in the pretty white convertible with a black top! He brought joy to people and though I have not been in contact with our class often I will still miss him Mayhe rest in pea ce.

My deepest sympathies to the Goulait family; and to his son Chris and brother Joe. May you find peace during this difficult time. Bert became a friend over the last 9 years, and I truly valued him for all his qualities. I will miss him very much!

I send my sincerest condolences to his loved ones and will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. May your beautiful memories of all the happy moments with him give you some comfort as you grieve his loss.

Bert was a wonderful high school friend. I have fond memories of hanging out in Bert’s house listening to Hawaiian music with his father, watching Bert practice his guitar, and avoiding doing homework. As avid fans of the beach, and surfing, we spent New Year’s eve of 1964, of all things, going to the see the first run movie “The Endless Summer.” Bert will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
