Obituary of ROBERT JOSEPH COLLINS

Of Falls Church, VA, died on September 17, 2014. Born in Boston on June 28, 1932 and raised in Quincy, MA, Bob was the son of the late Edward & Winifred Collins. Devoted husband for 48 years of Lillian Burns Collins and loving father of Bob (Lyn); Dan (Tina); Michelle (fiancé Eric). Loving Grandfather of Jenna, David, Shyanne, Sierra, Nicholas and Makenzie. He will be missed by his best buddy Bandit. Bob is survived by brother Richard (Sandra) of Quincy, MA, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Marie and brothers Edward (Buddy), Paul and Leo. Bob’s life was filled with faith, family, love and laughter. After a successful career, he retired from both the Veterans Administration (Boston/Washington DC) and the VFW (Washington DC). He was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox and enjoyed being a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Church choir. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Philip Catholic Church, Falls Church, VA where he was a member for 37 years, on Monday, September 22 at 1 p.m., followed by interment at National Memorial Park, Falls Church.
