From the first time that I met Mary ten years ago, I knew that she was special. Not only was Mary smart, kind, and engaging; she transcended time and culture. She was an octogenarian, and she could have a breezy and intelligent conversation about just about anything, and with anyone. As I grew to know and love Mary and her family over the years, I could see her beautiful spirit in them as well. Mary lived a long life, difficult at times, yet she always shined brightly on everyone around her. Her grace continues to radiate to anyone who was fortunate enough to know her. We love you Mary.
Dearest Ellen,
As I mentioned above to Will, I just now looked back and saw your post. Your love and support of mom — and our entire family — has meant so much to her and to all of us. You have never been more dear to us than through mom’s death. We all love you so much and can’t thank you enough for being you – supportive, sweet, strong, understanding. Love, Caroline

I have fond memories of Stone family get togethers on Sundays in Vienna, WVA on 58th St. Whenever Aunt Mary would be visiting from Washington DC would be a special time. She had a successful career with the Department of Navy and I was always impressed that she worked at the Pentagon all those years. We talked by phone from time to time. She had a memory like a steel trap. I’ll miss her. Condolences to others in her family.
Hi Will,
I just happened to look back at mom’s obituary and saw you had posted. Thank you so much for your kindness. I was so glad to reconnect with you; even under such sad circumstances. I’m so grateful you joined Sam and Jeri and came to the service. Family always meant the world to mom. Wishing you the Lord’s best. Caroline
