Obituary of Gregory J. Boland

Passed away peacefully at his home in Arlington, VA on November 3, 2014. Born in St. Paul, MN, he was the son of the late Kathleen and John Boland. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Nancie Boland. Greg grew up in the Midwest, and was a graduate of the University of MN. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. He later moved to Arlington, VA, where he worked for the federal government, including many years with the U.S. Postal Service. Greg remained active throughout his life. He took up running later in life, and ran in several Marine Corps Marathons in his seventies. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Mary Patricia Boland Herbst, brother, Richard Boland, and dear companion, Joanne Price. He is survived by four nieces, several cousins, and many dear friends and neighbors in Virginia. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Advent Funeral Home, Falls Church, VA, with burial to be held in St. Paul, MN at a later date.
