Obituary of Beverley Richards

Beverley Richards, longtime resident of Jonesboro, AR, died peacefully under hospice care in her home in Falls Church, VA, on Friday. Born in 1937, Beverley received her M.A. in Botany in 1962 from the University of Kansas and taught science in the Jonesboro Public School system for many years. She and ASU professor Leon Richards were married forty-eight years before his death. She leaves her son Brady and her daughters Camilla and Sarah as well as four remarkable young grandchildren, one granddog, and two spoiled grandcats. As was her nature, Beverley requested no official service in her memory, but If she could she’d suggest you spend some time playing an instrument, eating good ice cream, possessing unwavering and sometimes unwarranted school spirit, watching an eclipse, visiting a National Park or two, voting in a way that helps people instead of corporations, and being as kind as you know how to be. Her family wants to thank especially her dear and patient lifelong circle of friends in town.
