Obituary of Karen Marie Noller

Karen Marie Noller August 24, 1959 – December 9, 2014 Our precious friend, sister, cousin, sister in Christ, Karen Marie Noller, left this earthly life on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. Karen was born August 24, 1959 in West Lafayette, Indiana. Her first birthday was celebrated on the road to Stillwater, Oklahoma where her father joined the microbiology faculty at Oklahoma State. While raising Karen and her older brother Larry, her mother volunteered for several churches and civic organizations. In Stillwater, Karen attended Westwood Elementary and was active in volleyball and choir. She then graduated into C.E. Donart High School, where she participated in basketball, volleyball, played in band ensemble, and sang in choir. She was also active in church fellowship and Girl Scouts. Her family enjoyed extended vacations during the summer months when her father was not teaching. She received her undergraduate degree in Journalism from Oklahoma State University. She then studied to become an attorney at Oklahoma City University, and passed the Oklahoma State Bar in September, 1998. At the time of her passing she was working as a contract attorney in Washington, DC. Karen was a prayer! She won many battles because of Christ in her. Having lived more than thirty years in God’s arms as His daughter, she sought to be fruitfully engaged in conveying the dynamic truths of His faithfulness. God carried her through painful seasons in which she needed His healing, reclaiming love, and purification. As a direct product of Christ’s refining love, she had greater soul wholeness than she had ever dreamed possible. Smart, gifted, generous, Karen loved and was loved! She loved ministering and preparing for and facilitating Mars Hill discussions. She loved cooking for friends, singing, going on adventures, praying, serving others, her cats, biking, swimming, and much more! After moving to the DC area, Karen made McLean Bible Church in Vienna, Virginia her church home, enjoying the teaching, music, and fellowship. She enthusiastically gave her time and talents in various ministries including the Worship Choir, the People in Praise vocal ensemble, Soul Purpose, Focus, and the Greeting ministry. She is survived by her brother Larry Noller and cousins (Kim Mullen, Kathy Kramer, Mark MacKenzie, and David Noller) and preceded in death by her father, Eric Charles Noller and mother, Janice Linn Noller. A memorial service is planned for Friday, January 16, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. at McLean Bible Church, Vienna VA in Community Room B followed by a potluck and time for sharing and caring in Community Room C.
