Guidance Counselor (Age 75) On January 8, 2015, Nancy Jean Cartwright, a resident of Falls Church, VA passed away suddenly after a short hospital stay. A Guidance Counselor for over 25 years in Bridgewater-Raritan, NJ, she retired to Virginia to spend time with her family, especially her beloved daughter Jessika Cartwright. She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter Jessika, her grandson Daniel Duncan, her great-grandson Julian Duncan, her sisters, Marie Wanner, Ruth Yoritomo, and Dolores Sartorius, as well as two generations of nieces and nephews. Nancy was born July 18, 1939 in Orange, New Jersey. She was raised in Millburn, NJ and graduated from Millburn High School in 1957. She attended Trenton State College (now The College of New Jersey) and graduated in 1961 with a B.A. in English. She volunteered at Inova Fairfax Hospital, taught bridge to local high school students, and recently began editing the parish bulletin for St. Anthony’s Church. Nancy was designated a Golden Age Master bridge player by the American Contract Bridge League. Music was a great part of Nancy’s life. In addition to singing at Sunday Mass in the Catholic church choir wherever she lived, she also sang in the Paul Hill Chorale and most recently in the Encore Chorale. In the summer of 2014, she participated in a workshop at the Chautauqua Music Festival with her sister Ruth Yoritomo.
