Obituary of Eileen Campbell

Eileen was born and raised in Philadelphia. After high school, Eileen lived in San Francisco and Los Angeles, where she graduated from Cal State University-Los Angeles with a degree in Elementary Education. Eileen moved to the Washington,DC area in 1966 and completed her Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Maryland. Shortly after receiving her Master’s degree, Eileen became the proud mom of a son, John. Eileen had several jobs after John’s arrival, the final of which was as a Library Aide for the Prince George’s County Memorial Library System in Greenbelt. She retired in 2010. Eileen and her husband Frank enjoyed traveling together. They took many trips across the US and to several foreign countries, including Mexico, Canada, Australia, Turkey, England, Scotland and Ireland. Eileen was a baseball fan all of her life. First, she was a dedicated Phillies fan along with her dad, with whom she attended many games at Shibe Park. Later, Eileen became an avid Washington Nationals fan. Other interests included reading, astronomy, following the Redskins and Terps, and caring for her pets. Eileen died peacefully at home due to complications from dementia. Eileen is survived by her husband, Frank Coorsen; son, John Campbell; and step-son, Bob Coorsen (Louise). A memorial service will be held at Advent Funeral Services in Lanham, MD on Friday, February 20th at 11am. Immediately following the service, there will be a reception at the Greenbelt American Legion American Legion Post 136 6900 Greenbelt Road Greenbelt, Maryland 20770
