Obituary of Katheryn Lewis Reichert

Kathryn Ruby (Lewis) Reichert was born on November 4, 1936, in Denver, Colorado. She passed on March 16, 2015. She was the youngest of Ralph Spencer Lewis and Ruby Lennea Johnson’s four children. When she was 5, her family moved to San Pedro, California, where she grew up and graduated from San Pedro High School in 1954. After some studies at UC Berkeley, she graduated from Eastern Washington College of Education in Cheney, Washington, with credentials to be a high school art and home economics teacher. Before settling down, Kathryn lived in Germany, Morocco, Ethiopia, and Turkey. On January 15, 1970 she married Robert B. Reichert in Germany where they lived and raised their family for over 20 years. First retiring to Ocala, Florida, she moved to Greenspring Village in Springfield, Virginia in 2008. A life-long Presbyterian, she had a strong faith and love for Jesus Christ. She enjoyed travel, fine dining, puzzles, and spending time with her extensive circle of friends. Kathryn is survived by her children Carrie Flinchbaugh and husband Rich Flinchbaugh, Alison Reichert, and William Reichert. A memorial service will be held at Greenspring Village Chapel, 7420 Spring Village Drive, Springfield, VA, on Saturday, March 21, 2015, at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Columbia @ Greenspring or Greenspring Hospice.
