Obituary of Virginia Suzanne Kingsbury

VIRGINIA S. KINGSBURY “GINNY” (Age 72) On Tuesday, March 17, 2015, Virginia S. Kingsbury, of Springfield, VA, died in Fair Oaks Hospital after a long battle with breast cancer. She was born on January 30, 1943 in Kansas City, KS to Melvin and Grace Brown and was sister to Ray Brown of Auburn, CA. In 1964 she married James Kingsbury (USAF, ret.), and shared 50 years of love together. She was mother to Kimberley and son-in-law Robert Wooding of Springfield, Tracy and son-in-law Alan Bank of Lorton, and Christopher Kingsbury and daughter-in-law Yuko of Tokyo, Japan. She was also proud grandmother to Gillian, Natalie and Theodore. As both a child of Army parents and wife of an Air Force officer, she enjoyed the opportunities of living and travelling throughout the world, and finally settled in Springfield, VA where she and the family have resided for the last 30 years. She built a long career of teaching children everywhere she lived, and after earning her Masters Degree she became the elementary school counselor at Fort Hunt Elementary School in Alexandria, VA. Virginia loved art, history and classical music. She was also an avid gardener, and she loved her miniature Schnauzers; but above all, spending time with and helping her family was most important to her. Memorial services will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church at 6509 Sydenstricker Road in Burke, VA on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 1:00 pm. She will be interred at Arlington Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Online guest book is available at adventfuneral.com.
