Bill was my lifelong mentor in work and life. He hired me right out of college and showed me how to navigate the world of business. He would give me new responsibilities which I knew nothing about and he’d say ‘you can do it’. He would entertain and educate us all with his WWII stories. He was a great leader and man who taught me all about independence, accountabilities and integrity. When I had doubts about business travel with kids at home, he reassured me and said I was setting a good example for them. He was so right! He had insights into human behavior that few do. Everyone should have a Bill in their life.

Bill was a man of honor, integrity, wit, charm, intelligence, compassion and caring, and an amazing teacher and leader. He touched so many people and positively inspired so many lives-including mine. I am so blessed to have had him in my life, to have worked for him and with him at ITC Learning, and been influenced and taught by him, to have laughed with him. Bill was a “game changer” in my life and I am forever grateful. In his continual quest to educate others and improve the world- this poem fits his passing well: “I may return If dissatisfied With what I learn From having died.” ― Robert Frost RIP Bill. My sympathy to his family on your great loss.

Bill saw promise in an ex-navy submariner and hired me. Over 20+ years he guided, challenged and taught be everything I know about people and business. God, what a man.

I can’t think of my childhood without thinking of this family. Bill was always a gracious, generous and caring man. His kindness will not be forgotten. My love to the family.

A true mystic to those of us at the University of Delaware. An astounding and specific way of observing and sensing people. Charisma allied with natural power-and a dead on center sense of humor. He inspired me more than any other and I was sad to see him leave university teaching, knowing it was inevitable. He loved us all. He’s OK now. The worst dresser I ever encountered. Will miss him so much. Bless Susan and the entire family. Don Biehn

A mentor and friend. No one like him in my life. Taught me early on to refuse the humdrum. What a lesson.
