We are newcomers to the community, but would often see Jackie out walking her dogs in the few months we’ve lived in the area. The accident that happened was right outside of our home and my family’s hearts broke along with those of many neighbors. We are so sorry for your loss and you are in our thoughts and prayers. Jackie was a very special woman from what I have heard and I will be thinking of all of you.

To the Gibbs family: we are so deeply sorry for your loss. Our experience with Ms. Jackie was at Resurrection Lutheran Preschool where she taught my children. Most recently, she was my son’s teacher last year. Each and every day we arrived at her classroom, she greeted us with a loving smile, and welcome arms. She came to know and appreciate each child in a very special way – she had a gift for that – for making others feel so deeply loved and seen. We are sending you all our love.

Dear Gibbs Family,
We were deeply saddened to hear of Jackie’s passing, and we would like to offer our prayers and condolences to your family. Our family has been truly blessed to have Jackie teach our daughters, and we are forever grateful that they had such a wonderful and caring first teacher. We will never forget the smile on her face each day we picked up our happy girls from her classroom, and she told us stories of the fun and silly things they did during the day. May God bless you in your time of sorrow.

We are so saddened to hear of your loss. Miss Jackie was a loving teacher to our son Cooper. He was having a particularly bad year and did not love starting pre-school, but I always knew she’d win him over quickly and he was always smiling at pickup. Her patience and infinite love touched our lives that year (and helped us get through it!) . We will keep her in our hearts. We love you Miss Jackie!!! ❤️❤️❤️

To Jessica and the Gibbs family and friends-
We have heard of the accident and collectively held Katia in our thoughts and made well wishes for a recovery. All are deeply saddened to hear she has passed away. It is a tragedy and starkly reminds us all how precious and short life is, and also how much one person means to so many people and touches many lives. On a personal note, I know that everyone is now grieving her loss…we will all lean on one another to get us through this sad time and remember someone who meant so much to all.
Jackie was an amazing woman and teacher who taught both my sons. My youngest was born early and spent 3 months in the NICU at birth. To leave him with someone for his first school experience was incredibly difficult, but Jackie made it easier by her love and compassion. I trusted her and without her that transition would have been so hard for me. The transitions for both my sons to school was smoother because of her and her love. She truly had a gift. My heart hurts for her family and the community as a whole- it is such a great loss. My boys still talk about her years later and she will never be forgotten.

My family would like to express our heartfelt condolences for your tragic loss. “Miss Jackie” is beloved by my two young daughters, who she taught during the last two years at Resurrection Weekday Lutheran Preschool. Jackie was a constant, loving, and kind presence in their lives. She helped them to learn, to be more confident, and to have so much fun. Jackie helped us better understand our girls, and we hope to be better parents to them. We value and honor her contribution and the sweet person she was. Thank you for sharing her with us, and know that in turn we share your grief. May your memories be of comfort.
