Obituary of Catherine F. Sullivan

May 29, 1927 – September 21, 2010 Visitation: Family will receive friends at Advent Funeral Services, 7211 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA, on Sunday, October 3, 2010, from 4pm – 6pm. Service: A service will be held at Church of The Holy Comforter, 543 Beulah Road, N.E., Vienna, VA, on Monday, October 4, at 11am. Burial: Burial will be private. Catherine (Kitty) F. Sullivan, a retired teacher, died September 21 at Emeritus Senior Living in Arlington. She died from complications related to rheumatoid arthritis Mrs. Sullivan was a native of Boston, Mass who moved to the Washington D. C. metropolitan area in the early 1960’s. She was the wife of the late Thomas Quintin Sullivan. She taught elementary school both in Boston and at The Langley School of McLean, Virginia. Catherine Fahey was born in Marlboro, Mass. in 1927. She was a graduate of Mount Saint Joseph’s Academy and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts. She was an active and long time resident of Vienna, Va., where among other civic activities, she served as President of the Vienna Women’s Club and as President of the Vienna Business and Professional Women’s Club. Kitty has a large extended family who still reside in the Boston area. Survivors include four children, Thomas Sullivan of Arlington, Va., Elizabeth Bleich of Reston, Va., Laura Winslow of Washington D. C. and Neil Sullivan of Fredericksburg, Va.; and ten grandchildren. Interment will be private at Arlington National Cemetery.
