Obituary of Robert C. Edwards

Age 67, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease on July 31, 2011 of Springfield, VA with his wife and daughter at his side. He is survived by his wife, Judith Ann (Beauparlant) Edwards and his daughter, Allison Kate Edwards. He is also survived by his parents, Wilma and Cecil Edwards of McHenry, MD, his sister, Carol Williams of Tampa, FL, several nieces and nephews and a great niece and several great nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son, David Charles. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 2, from 6pm-8pm at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8304 Old Keene Mill Road, Springfield, VA where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 3 at 11am. A visitation in Accident, Maryland will be held on Thursday, August 4, from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at Newman Funeral Home, 26722 Garrett Highway in Accident. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 5, 11am at the Zion Lutheran Church, 209 North Main Street, Accident, MD 21520. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions my be made in Bob’s name to, Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Church Street Station, PO Box 780, New York, NY 10008. Bob spent his career in the Air Force, 1969-1993. He was a Master Sergeant in the field of photography. He served abroad and lived in England and Viet Nam. He traveled all over the world. He worked in the White House Communication Agency under the administrations of George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton. He was an avid gardener. He had a fondness for his dog and his cat. His proudest moment was being a father to Allison.
