Obituary of Rosemary Cabral

A long-time resident of Suitland, MD passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2011, with her family at her side, at Anne Arundel Medical Center (after battling a long illness). She was one of 12 children born to Eugene and Josephine Collins in Washington, DC. Rosemary was a graduate from Anacostia High School in Washington, DC. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She worked as a secretary for many years at the law firm, Markel, Hill & Byerly in Washington, DC. In 1991, Rosemary began her federal career working at the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Later she joined the Federal Election Commission where she remained until her retirement in 2009. She attended St. Bernardines of Siena Catholic Church in Suitland, MD, and also St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Clinton, MD. She loved watching her grandchildren in all of their sporting activities and school events. She loved being around and going to yard sales with her sisters. Rosemary always remembered everyone’s birthday and wedding anniversary by sending a card. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Manuel Cabral, her brothers Eugene, Louis, and Angelo, and her sisters Barbara and Maryann. She is survived by her children, Victor Cabral and Kimberly Stogdale (John), her two grandchildren, Spencer and Shelby Stogdale, her three sisters, Patricia Andrews (Andy), Ruth Cianfrani, Victoria Collins, her three brothers, Maurice Collins, Paul Collins and Joseph Collins (Melinda), and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service for Rosemary will take place at Maryland Veterans Cemetery Cheltenham at a later date.
