Obituary of Jackie B. Welch

On Sunday, 26 February 2012, Jackie B. Welch, 86, beloved mother of David, Elizabeth, and Joseph, and wife of the late Donald M. Welch, passed away at her home in Springfield, VA. Jackie was born in Steele, MO and in 1953 married Donald, a career Foreign Service diplomat with the Department of State. They spent the following 30 years serving at various overseas Embassies and Consulates before retiring to the Northern VA area. Jackie leaves behind five grandchildren, Joseph, Emma, Kenneth, Molly, and Hannah, as well as loving son-in-law Tom, and daughters-in-law Gretchen and Anita. A gathering will be held on Thursday, 08 March 2012, at Advent Funeral & Cremation Services on 7211 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22046 from 6 pm to 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rikki’s Refuge, P. O. Box 1357, Orange, VA 22960. A graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery Columbarium on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at 10am.
