I started with USAA in 1980 as a Field Appraiser Trainee and wrote an estimate on Jim’s company car in the early 1908’s. Ginger was always supportive with a great sense of humor. I can still hear her laugh & miss the “Good ‘ole Days” we had at work! My Deapest Sympathy to the family! Ginger will be missed by all !!!

Ginger worked with my mom at USAA, Nancy Woods. Many times when it would snow Ginger would stay with us, she did not like driving in the snow. She would play games, read with us, just be there. She was a wonderful person and saw the good in everyone. Her smile would light up the room and you never got past her without a hug. She will be missed! I still think about her every time it snows….. God Bless

I first met Ginger in 1976 when I had just started work as a claims analyst and she was a Sr. Claims Rep. All through the years as we both worked our way up to different positions at USAA, I remember her helpfulness and positive attitude. She was also a lot of fun to work with. I will always remember Ginger, and my deepest sympathy goes out to Jim, Cole, and the entire family.

I remember the early days at that old Fairfax USAA office when my mom (Lou Heath back then, Lou Hall now) would bring me in and the first person I would seek out was Ginger. Company fuction, go find Ginger, she was the best person ever to a 5 year old and as others have said, to those much older as well. She would always make time for me no matter how busy she was. The world has lost a wonderful person, that we all knew far to shorthly, yet left us with a lifetime of great memories. In her death as in her life, we all can once again look up to her.

Ginger was there from day one at USAA,back when I was semi-single. Then we found our mates and when on to become part of a group of “older” pregnant ladies. She always loved my oldest Bill and that love was returned, I remember picking her up at the train station and him running down the platform calling her name. Thank you Jim and Cole for sharing her with all of us who will continue to love and remember her.

Jim, Cole, and Alexandra, I had the wonderful pleasure of working with Ginger at USAA in Fairfax, VA. I remember our rides to Tyson in my Z car and how much we would laugh. My heart is so heavy. She is in heaven laughing I know. Now her spirit will surround you forever.
Love, Sheila

Ginger’s motherly instincts were strong, even in the workplace! I recall a time as a new manager, I was sitting at my desk with a phone cord that had been knotted up so tight that when a picked up the receiver, I could barely bring the phone to my ear without bending over the phone. One day, Ginger observed this and said to me, “I’ll be right back.” I had know idea what she had in mind or that she had even paid attention to the state of my phone cord. Several minutes later, she came back with a brand, spanking new cord! That small act of kindness illustrates the kind of person Ginger was. Thoughtful, kind, and generous. Rest in peace, Ginger. You are so deserving.

It seems that I have known Ginger forever. When she first began working at USAA, she and others would give assignments to independent claim agencies for handling; I would take those assignments from her. When I started at USAA in 1974 and was introduced to her, she said “I’d recognize that accent anywhere!” Ginger is someone I will always remember ; my sincere condolences to her family.
