Obituary of Victor E. Muniec

Victor E. Muniec (age 87) On April 24, 2012 in Alexandria, VA. Predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Judith Priestley Muniec, He is survived by his five children: Christopher T. Muniec of Petersberg, VA; Gregory V. Muniec of Doswell, VA; David S. Muniec of Winthrop, Maine; Emily R. Shepardson and Douglas P. Muniec, both of Arlington, VA. He was a devoted grandfather to his six grandchildren; Robert, Susan, Eric, Victor, Treat and Raynor. Victor was a radio operator with Company B, 53rd Signal Battalion in World War II. Originally from Bondsville, MA, he lived for many years in Bridgeport, CT and in the Washington, DC area. He is a graduate of the University of Bridgeport and held a MA from Boston University. He was director of Public Relations at the University of Bridgeport before holding similar positions at the National Association of Conservation Districts and the Department of Agriculture. Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 1pm, assemble at the Administration Building at 12:30pm. Victor and his wife were lifelong advocates of historic preservation; in lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in his name to the Arlington Historical Society or to the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund .
