Obituary of Ronald Perry Holmlund

RONALD PERRY HOLMLUND On June 4, 2012 Ronald Holmlund, 85, of McLean, VA passed away after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born in Jamestown NY – May 1st, 1927. He is survived by Gwenn, his wife of 58 years, and three sons, Jon Jennings (Kimberly) of Springfield, VA, Ronald Mark of Mt. Airy, MD, Kevin Robert of Lignum, VA and 2 grandchildren, Kenneth Bryce and Sarah Jennings and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Mabel Holmlund and two infant siblings, Norris and Louise. He graduated from Kensington High School, Buffalo, NY in 1945. Served in the Army of Occupation in the 754th Tank Battalion in Korea from 1945-1947. Attended Central Radio & TV School in Kansas City KS, 47-49. Was a Broadcast Engineer at WTTG-TV for 40 years. He belonged to the MG Car Club and the Society of Broadcast Engineers. He was President of the Washington Executive Broadcast Engineers (WEBE) 1983. Along with his sons he enjoyed auto restoration, power boats, sailing, and building models of Cars, airplanes and engines. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 am, on the 23rd of June at the Lutheran Church of The Redeemer, 1545 Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA 22101. In Lieu of Flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be directed to support the Alzheimer’s Association, 3701 Pender Drive, Suite 400 Fairfax, VA 22030-6045
