Obituary of Ora M. Harroun

Ora M. Harroun (nee Price) The family of Ora M. Harroun announces her peaceful death on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. She was born in Lockport, LA on December 9, 1922 and raised in Plaquemine, LA. Mrs. Harroun served as a nurse in the U.S. Navy in World War II and during the Korean Conflict. She married James F. Harroun (d. 2010) in 1954 and lived in many locations while he pursued his career. In each location, she was active in many charities. Mrs. Harroun is survived by her sister, Marcelle Pfenninger, her four children Catherine (Pat), Timothy (Mariane), Tony (Sue) and Mary (Lee), five grandchildren, Taylor (Amy), Katie, Alex, Jacob and Garion, great-granddaughter Annabelle, and many nieces and nephews. Her family will receive visitors at Advent Funeral Home, 7211 Lee Highway, Falls Church, VA 22046 from 4:30 pm to 8:30 pm on Tuesday, August 7. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Georgetown at 36th Street between N and O Streets NW at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, August 8. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staffs of Aging Outreach Services in North Carolina, CareOptions and Aarondale Assisted Living and Capital Caring Hospice in the DC area.
