Obituary of Elizabeth Jean Eastwood Mendez

Elizabeth Jean Eastwood Mendez, age 43, died October 11, 2012, with her family by her side. She was born in Ames, Iowa on November 14, 1968, the daughter of Basil and Barbara (Shewe) Eastwood. She graduated from Loudoun Valley High School, Purcellville, VA in 1987. While there, Elizabeth was co-editor of the school paper, president of the school band and leader of the marching band. She attended Mary Washington College and received her Bachelor’s degree from George Mason University. She worked in the food service industry and served as manager of several restaurants. Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Juan Carlos Mendez of Arlington, VA, whom she married on July 13, 2009, her parents, Basil and Barbara Eastwood of Round Hill, VA and her brother, Charles Eastwood of La Plata, MD. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Advent Funeral and Cremation Services, from 2-5 PM.
