Obituary of Esther Louise Ann Novotny Dami

Esther Louise Ann Novotny Dami (81) on December 9, at home in her sleep, surrounded by her family, joined her Savior, her sister Gladys Novotny Rockwell, her brothers Bob, Joe and Guy, her parents Gottlieb and Molly, and many cherished pets. She was the beloved wife of John J. (Jack) for 58 years, loving mother of John W. and his wife Susan, delightful grandmother of Jennifer and Katherine, and supportive friend and relative of many others. She was born in 1930 and lived in New York, where she met and married Jack. They moved to California, where they ran a successful employment agency, but came back east to be with their son and grandchildren. They all lived together in Annandale, where Esther enjoyed her “perfect” dog Shadow, her granddaughters’ concerts, reading, and her garden. She was a master of crosswords, puzzles, and cooking (to the enjoyment of all!). She is greatly, greatly missed. A Service celebrating the gift of her life will be held on Friday, January 18, at 11 AM, at St. Barnabas’ Episcopal Church, 4801 Ravensworth Road, Annandale, VA, with a reception afterwards.
