Obituary of Isabel Pardo Tekovic
Isabel Pardo Tekovic, 96, passed away comfortably and peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023. She was accompanied by her youngest brother José I. Pardo, and nieces Pola McLeese (and her husband Mike) and Hildi M. Pardo.
Isabel was born in Choachí, Colombia on February 4, 1926. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Giorgio Tekovic. Isabel is the 8th of 19 brothers and sisters and is survived by the three youngest siblings: Gabriel Pardo (Arizona), Inés Pardo (Bogotá), and José Pardo (Virginia), and countless nieces and nephews.
Isabel was the first of all the Pardo siblings to come to the US – she arrived in Washington, DC in 1961 and worked as a beautician. Her brother José came to the US to give her away at her wedding with Giorgio on December 28, 1963.
Isabel was a devout Catholic and prayed the rosary daily and was very generous with the Catholic Church, various Catholic charities, and with her family.
There will be two separate Visitation opportunities on Friday, February 3, 2023: one from 11am-12noon, and the other from 6pm-7pm at Advent Funeral Home, Falls Church. Both the funeral Mass (St. Anthony of Padua, Falls Church) and the burial (Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring) will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023.
