I'm one of Bill's neighbors and got to know him through a longstanding monthly neighborhood dinner group. For many years—up until the month before his passing—Bill was a regular at these dinners along with Carol, and I looked forward to walking into the restaurant every month and getting a warm, jovial greeting from him every time. And during dinner, he always had a funny story to share (like the time he was dubbed the 'pistol packin' preacher') or an interesting observation on life or politics or how much cheese was appropriate to have grated over his dish. In the past two years, when I started walking my dog every morning by their house, Bill would take the time to step outside if he saw us and say hello and pet my pup and chat for a few minutes. It may not sound like a big deal to many folks, but to me, it made me smile and made my day just a little bit better. Sometimes it's the little things that make a big impact. It's people like Bill that make a neighborhood special, and I'm really going to miss him. I know all of us in the neighborhood will. - Jenny G.

Bill was a great neighbor. A fun filled man who always had a story that would tickle you to the tips of your toes. He will be greatly missed at the West George Mason monthly dinners - He rarely missed. I am sure he is in the arms of the Lord and at peace. Sympathies to Carol and family.
