Obituary of Charlotte Marie Smock Boeck

Charlotte Marie Smock Boeck, beloved mother, sister, and friend to many died at home, on September 15, 2022, from the effects of Parkinson’s.  Charlotte was born on August 14, 1940, in Meadville, PA and moved to Washington DC to work for the federal government after passing the Civil Service exam, and had a 34-year career as the Administrative Officer in the General Council’s Office at the Department of Transportation, where she multiple service awards. 

She is survived by her daughter, Alicia B Esposito and son, James Michael Boeck; sisters, Effie, Margaret, and Emma; son-in-law, Pasquale Esposito; grandchildren, Pasquale, Michele, Corrina, and Matthew; and many other family members including five great-grandchildren.

After retirement Charlotte loved to travel and did volunteer work at the office of Capital Caring Hospice, www.capitalcaring.org/get-involved/donate, raised funds and participated the exercise programs of the Parkinson’s Foundation of the National Capital Area, wwwparkinsonfoundation.org.   Donations in her memory can be sent to either of these programs.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
