Helen Marie Kingery

Helen Marie Kingery passed away on February 18, 2022, not long before her 96th birthday.

A long-time resident of The Jefferson in Arlington, Virginia, Helen was born and raised in far northern Minnesota. She moved to Washington, DC, to help with the war effort where she worked for the Navy Department. While in Washington, she met and married John Clay Kingery of Huntington, West Virginia.  The two settled in Northern Virginia, where they raised their three children.  After the three children left home, Helen resumed her career, working for a number of years at USAID. Helen loved gardening and was a terrific golfer.  She and Johnny spent a lot of their time around golf courses. They divided their time after retirement between Pinehurst, North Carolina, and Vero Beach, Florida.  Helen returned to Arlington in 2006 after Johnny passed away.

Helen now has left us to join her beloved husband, Johnny and their daughter Judy Marie Littleton who predeceased her.  She leaves behind her daughter, Rebecca Helen Kingery of Arlington, John Cabell Kingery of Charlottesville, Virginia, granddaughter Heather Forsythe and two great granddaughters, Lydia and Alexia, of Bernville, Pennsylvania, and grandson Jacob Kingery of Manassas, Virginia. She was a strong, loving woman and we will miss her greatly.
