Obituary of Clifford Andrew Culbreath

Mr. Clifford Andrew Culbreath, 71, of Falls Church, VA, beloved father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle, and friend to so many, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on December 25, 2021. 

Born on July 20, 1950, in Riverside, CA, he was the son of the late Emma And John Culbreath. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Darlene Culbreath and Estella Mae Louder-Van Zandt, and brothers, Ellison Harry Louder Jr, Edward John Louder, and Jerdall Paul Louder.

Left to honor and cherish his memory are his children, Carissa Gallant (Brad) of Vienna, VA, and Jordan Culbreath (Salone) of New York, NY; and granddaughter Evelyn Gallant. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. 

In addition to raising Carissa and Jordan with ex-wife Alma Culbreath, Cliff worked as the Director of Communications at the National Accrediting Commission (NACCAS) for over 20 years. Prior to that he worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for South Central Los Angeles Regional Center for 10 years. Anyone who met him knew that he was a proud University of Southern California Trojan, for life. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a member of the 1970 Rosebowl and 1972 National Championship football team. He was never shy about showing off his National Championship ring, Rose Bowl watch, or telling you stories about his glory days.  In his later years you could find him enjoying time with his family or listening to James Brown on the stationary bike at the gym. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. As he would say, “it’s been great but it’s late”. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 22, 2022 at 1pm at 2941 Restaurant (2941 Fairview Park Dr., Falls Church, VA 22042)
