Dr Throndike was much loved, brilliant, gentle, kind, caring veterinarian at Miller & Clark Animal Hospital. I worked as a 16 to 18 year old high school student with Drs Clarke, Thorndike, and Pinkney.... and Dr Miller popped in for a brief visit from retirement a time or two. The memorial note above is as humble as Dr Thorndike himself; I'd like to boast about how Dr T actually achieved VALiDICTORIAN #1 top graduate of his DVM Univ PA veterinary class. I wanted to grow up and be like Dr T. I was in absolute awe of Dr T, who came up with appropriate differential diagnoses, then whittled the differential down to the correct diagnosis, then created the best management plan. Every. Time. He was a super intelligent sweet caring humble GENIUS. It was so endearing when Dr T would visually scan the vet clinic countertops & ask "where's my stethoscope?" to which I would make eye contact & point to my neck, then his neck. Dr T nearly always rested his stethoscope behind his neck over his shoulders :). Dr T had a brilliant mind & good routines & a kind heart. You can't ask for any more all in ONE human being than that. My heart felt condolences to Kim, Will, and the entire family I fondly remember from "ice skating" in the middle of Pine Knoll Ln. Your Dad was simply AMAZING. Hugs.
