Obituary of Anthony Wiley Johnson

Anthony Wiley Johnson passed away unexpectedly on Sunday October 24, 2021 at the age of 68 in Washington, D.C. from a heart attack.

Anthony was born in Washington, DC on February 10, 1953 to Virginia and Richard Johnson. He graduated from Theodore Roosevelt high school in Washington, D.C. where he lettered in football and track and field. He also was a member of the band. On the track and field team he excelled in the long jump, where he was a finalist in the all-city DC championship. 

As an adult he worked in construction and transportation.  He loved being a father, listening to music and watching sports (especially when his kids were playing). He was a die-hard Nationals fan and never left the house without wearing his Nats fitted hat. A great orator, he was known for his storytelling. 

Anthony is survived by his four children- Melodie, Brandon, Isaac, and Dorian; five grandchildren - Isaiah, Tristan, Julian, Avery, and Adria; brothers – Gerald and Darnell; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
