Carlita Robinson

Obituary of Carlita Charlena Robinson

Carlita Charlena Robinson, went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 14, 2021, at the age of 49, at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Born in Norfolk, VA on August 9, 1971. She later moved to Maryland, where she worked to establish herself as an independent young woman. Carlita had many professions. Her most enjoyable work experience was at BET restaurant. She worked there at the height of the business and would share stories of all her celebrity encounters. Educationally, she attended Bladensburg High School, and later trained and worked in cosmetology and medical assisting. She enjoyed a career as a medical assistant leading up to her illness.

The daughter of Darlene Taylor and Charles Richardson (deceased). Mother to Charlita, Valencia, and Melody Robinson. Niece to Aunts, Joyce Thorpe and Geraldine Long. She leaves behind a big family of sisters, a brother, and cousins to cherish memories of her.

Carlita loved her family above all. She enjoyed nature, flowers, travel, and sky watching. She admired the beauty of the sun and clouds above her and never missed an opportunity to be outside on a beautiful, bright day.

Carlita loved to talk, tell stories, and jokes. She just wanted to make people laugh. She lived by the saying, “Choose Happiness”. She was creative and a dreamer. She was in the progress of launching a baby shower business and worked hard at practicing designs and researching ideas. Carlita was a sweet, caring and sensitive soul who will be forever missed and remembered.

Years 2017-2018 were very rough for our beloved Carlita. She was battling a health crisis that was attacking her lungs. She required the use of oxygen devices to breathe and eventually her lung function declined so severely that she had to stay 3 months in the hospital awaiting a lung transplant. She was faithful and trusted God to see her through the battle. Early in May 2018, Carlita, received word from her doctors that the hospital had a donor for her, and preparations were made for the operation. However, an hour later she was informed that due to stormy weather conditions, the transplant could not take place, because the organ could not be safely transported via helicopter from New York. She remained faithful.

May 7th, 2018, Carlita was blessed with a second chance at life. There was a donor matched with her. She underwent a double lung transplant operation. She breathed freely for three years. She celebrated every breath, dreamed with every breath, and loved with every breath in her body.
