Obituary of Christopher Allan Evans

Evans

Christopher Allan, “Chris”

53, Chris passed peacefully from this world to the next on October 3, 2020, after a happy life as a devoted brother to Norman (Debbie), cherished uncle to Katelynn and Kelsey, and step-brother to Heather Achilles. Chris is predeceased by his beloved parents, Robert Ellis and Nancy Lee (née Faulkenberry), and countless precious aunts and uncles. Resident of Alexandria, VA. Chris grew up in Wheaton, MD (WHS Class of 1986), and previously lived in Washington, D.C. and Arlington, VA. His zest for life caused him to be born several months premature, subsequently, this was the only time in his life he arrived early. Known by all for his kindness, joyful laugh, and role as a thoughtful listener. Chris was unapologetically himself, serving as a model for courage and pride. His selflessness could be seen especially in his decades-long volunteer work with Food and Friends. He gladly served as unofficial family historian, as he kept many records and heirlooms, especially for his Faulkenberry cousins. He had a passion for maintaining relationships, often sending monthly emails to extended family and friends. Chris is fondly remembered by his many dear cousins and countless friends. Indeed, his chosen family of friends was among his most treasured possessions. He enjoyed trips with these cousins and friends to beaches and the mountains of The Carolinas, and Rehoboth, DE. Services are expected to occur in Spring/Summer 2021, in both the MD/VA area, as well as in Kershaw, SC.

Chris lived his life with kindness and tolerance. The best way to honor his memory would be to emulate these values he held so dear. In lieu of flowers, please donate in Chris’s name to Food and Friends at foodandfriends.org . His family warmly welcomes shared memories and photos on this memorial page.
