Obituary of Jean Bower Feigley

Jean Feigley slipped away quietly on October 6, 2019, just 3 weeks after her 104th birthday. A resident of Washington DC since 2000, Jean was born in Pittsburgh, PA on September 13, 1915. She is lovingly remembered for her smile and positive attitude, her willingness to help others, her singing often with ukulele, and of course her amazing poetry. She loved to perform and was reciting and sharing poems, wisdom and thoughts with all who visited just days before her death. She is survived by her daughters Jean Marie Ivey of Ellsworth Maine, her son Donald Feigley of McDonald PA, and her daughter Donna Feigley Barbisch of Washington DC. She was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Joan Hoffman. At the time of her death, Jean had 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren…and she knew all of their names! She chose to have no services, so raise a glass and share your memories with friends. Memorial donations in memory of Jean can be made to the Women in Military Services Memorial.
