Brian Ehle

Obituary of Brian Paul Ehle

Brian Paul Ehle was born September 9, 1971, in Davenport, Iowa. He passed away on December 24, 2019 after fighting a brain tumor for more than a decade. He is survived by his wife Oksana, son Max, and daughter Zoe, as well as his mother Joan Ehle and sister Marcia Ehle Osborne (Chris) and her children Carolyn and Cliff Osborne. Brian spent his childhood in Davenport, Iowa; Succasunna, New Jersey; and Alexandria, Virginia. His dad bought an early model personal computer in the 1980s, and Brian quickly developed an interest in how they worked. After graduating from West Potomac High School, he studied computer science at George Mason University and later began his career as an “IT guy” for the tax accounting firm Ross and Moncure. There, he enjoyed working with great colleagues whom he thought of as close family. He worked at R&M his entire career, quickly learning the tax business, as well as constantly updating his IT skills. In between tax seasons, Brian enjoyed travel with his wife and children. Oksana taught him to ski, and that became his favorite winter sport and past time. They spent many winter vacations in Colorado and Vermont as a couple and a family. Summertime often included domestic or European travel, or much less elaborate camping and beach trips. He enjoyed concerts, stadium soccer games and tailgating with his family, as well as spending simple afternoons with his kids – attending their club soccer games, hiking, and other activities. He was very fond of jogging, taking his running gear even to vacation spots. Brian loved his home life and working on house projects, involving the kids into “daddy jobs” as well as teaching computer games and operations. He enjoyed to have get-together with friends by the pool, grilling for everyone, and playing pool games with children. He also loved working in the field and garden of his mother’s place in Annapolis, helping to organize many of the 4th of July feasts with friends and family, cooking crabs, and giving all the kids tractor rides. Brian was known as the Nicest Guy on the Planet. He was kind, easygoing, fun loving, and always willing to help. He was a great son, brother, husband, father, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
