Obituary of James F. Harroun

November 13, 1925 – October 16, 2010 Visitation: The family will receive visitors at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Georgetown (36th Street NW between N and O Streets NW) at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 23, 2010. Burial: Burial will take place in the spring, with the inurnment of the remains at Arlington National Cemetery. Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 23, 2010. A Memorial Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Pinehurst will be celebrated at a later date. The family of James F. Harroun announces his peaceful death on Saturday, October 16, 2010. He was born in Duluth, MN on November 13, 1925 and raised in Minneapolis. Mr. Harroun served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and during the Korean Conflict. He joined IBM in 1957 and worked in many locations for the company until his retirement in 1988. After his retirement, he and his wife relocated to Pinehurst, NC where they lived for many years until their move back to the Washington area in the spring of this year. Mr. Harroun is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Ora, his sister, Sr. Mary Elizabeth Harroun, S.S.J., his four children Catherine (Pat), Timothy (Mariane), Tony (Sue) and Mary (Lee), five grandchildren, Taylor (Amy), Katie, Alex, Jacob and Garion and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staffs of Aging Outreach Services in North Carolina and CareOptions and Capitol Hospice in the DC area.
